Content
So how can one bring traffic to their web site? That was the question I posed to a number of regular internet marketing professionals today. Wow was I surprised at the number of different answers I received! It was obvious that some of the methods were only useful for niche sites, but the majority of the answers would work for any site.
So one of the more obvious answers I received was content and therefore should be the first method explored in this series (you see I am immediately adding an article to my site). I doubt anyone reading this is going WOW at that. Probably more like Ugggg. Content is work. Well wake up all you get rich quickies out there! The people that do this stuff for a living work at it. They may work at home. They may work at home with hours of their choosing, but they do work. So yes it still takes work, but here is the beauty of an internet company versus starting an old fashioned brick and mortar company (this I know because I have both). You can start an internet company in the evenings. Many times with business the old fashioned way, you had to take that leap. That leap is not fun. I always tell people it's like walking off a cliff. Scary. With the interent, you can take your time. Build your content in the evenings and keep the income coming in with your old job during the day. The great thing about the internet is that once your site is off and running, many sites can pretty much run themselves. Oh it will always take a certain amount of maintenance and vigilance to insure things keep humming, but the hardest work is up front. So remember - first tip: Content is King!
